Jolaine Kerley - Co-Artistic Director, Intermediate Choir

Jolaine Kerley holds a Bachelor of Music degree and a Master of Music degree from the University of Alberta and a Master of Music degree from Indiana University. Jolaine is active as a soloist, conductor, adjudicator, clinician, and teacher. She is the current conductor of the choral program at Archbishop Jordan High School and is conductor of the Edmonton-based choir, Ariose Women’s Choir. Jolaine has previously conducted for the Edmonton Public Schools enrichment choirs, Schola Cantorum Primary Choir, and the former, Elk Island Catholic School Honour Choirs. She has been heard as soloist with Pro Coro Canada, Richard Eaton Singers, Ariose Women’s Choir, Alberta Baroque Orchestra, Carmel Bach Festival Chorale, Masterwork Chorus, and Spiritus Chamber Choir. Jolaine is a voice instructor at Concordia University College in Edmonton. Jolaine is a very happy mother to her two little ones, Jack, 6 and Sophie, 4, both who can’t wait to be old enough to sing with the Strathcona Children’s Choirs.   

 

 

Sarah Schaub- Co-Artistic Director, Junior Choir

Sarah Schaub has completed an Artist's Diploma from the Randolph Academy of Performing Arts, a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance at the University of Alberta, and a Bachelor of Education at the University of Alberta.  As a conductor, Sarah is involved with the Archbishop Jordan High School Choirs, both as an assistant director, as well as director and founder of the Jazz Choir.  This is in addition to her position as a teacher on staff, teaching Musical Theatre, Drama, English and Religion.  Sarah has also worked as a section lead for the Festival Singers, a vocal coach for Archbishop Jordan's Drama Department and the Cantando Festival, a voice instructor, and has been hired to perform musical theatre workshops.  As a performer, Sarah has sung with the Regina Symphony Orchestra, The Alberta Baroque Ensemble, Pro Coro Canada, Mercury Opera, the Da Camera Singers, the Scona Chamber Singers and the U of A Madrigal Singers.  Sarah's favourite musical theatre credit was working with Alberta Opera in their school tour of Rapunzel, in which she played the Witch.  Sarah looks forward to working with your child in the Strathcona Children's Choirs!
